One person injured and two total write-offs

Two traffic accidents occurred within a short period of time on the streets of Zug on Epiphany. A woman was injured, while two vehicles are now only fit for the scrap yard.

The first accident occurred on Monday morning, January 6, just before 10.30 a.m. A 60-year-old truck driver was driving along the Feldstrasse in the city of Zug and wanted to drive across the intersection into Göblistrasse. At the same time, a 53-year-old truck driver was travelling out of town, towards Baar, on the Baarerstrasse. A side / frontal collision occurred at the intersection, according to a report from the Zug law enforcement authorities. The two drivers were not injured, but the delivery van was a total write-off.

Around an hour later, a second traffic accident occurred on the Gulmstrasse in Oberägeri. A 33-year-old motorist who was driving uphill lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a retaining wall on the right-hand side of the road, and then into a lamppost. The police report states that she was slightly injured and was taken to the hospital for checks. The vehicle was also a total write-off. The Oberägeri fire brigade was deployed due to leaking liquids and to control the traffic service.

According to the Zug law enforcement authorities, the causes of the two accidents are not yet known, and are being clarified.
