Narcotics and banned weapons seized

The police force in Zug has arrested two suspected drug dealers in the past few days. In addition to cocaine, hashish and marijuana, several weapons were also seized.

On Monday evening, January 20, police from Zug stopped a vehicle on Chamerstrasse in Rotkreuz and checked the two inmates. The passenger, a 21-year-old North Macedonian was found to be carrying more than 1 kilogram of hashish, around 50 grams of marijuana and 1.3 grams of cocaine. During the house search ordered by the stand-by public prosecutor, another 35 grams of cocaine and narcotics utensils were discovered. The emergency services also found three prohibited weapons on the premises.

The 21-year-old man was arrested. When questioned, he stated that he had bought the narcotics for his own consumption.

Another alleged drug dealer was arrested in Zug on Wednesday evening, 29 January, by civilian police officers from the Zug police. The 24-year-old Swiss man was carrying around 15 grams of marijuana at that time. The stand-by public prosecutor then ordered a house search, and the police found around 400 grams of marijuana, several thousand francs in cash and prohibited weapons. The 24-year-old was arrested and brought to the public prosecutor's office in the canton of Zug.

On being questioned, the man stated that he had resold around five kilograms of marijuana in the past one to one and a half years. The Public Prosecutor of the Canton of Zug has opened criminal proceedings against both men for offenses against the narcotics and weapons law. Both men have now been released pending the legal proceedings.
