Municipality offers stand-up paddles boards from a rental box
From Friday, 13th September, stand-up paddle boards and the necessary equipment can be hired conveniently and spontaneously at the ‘Freiraum am See’ in Hünenberg See.
Six boards are available, according to a statement on Thursday from the municipality of Hünenberg, with the hire box located in the car park at the ‘Freiraum am See’. This is the first Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) rental box in Central Switzerland.
All the necessary equipment (board, paddle, life jacket, safety strap, bags) can be reserved and collected via the ‘Equip Sport’ app for CHF 18 per hire. Stand-up paddling is possible from the ‘Freiraum’ lake access point, but not from the Hünenberg lake swimming area (Badi Hünenberg).

Boards can be hired from sunrise to sunset, but hiring will be suspended in the event of a storm warning. The rental box will remain in operation until the end of October 2024, and will start again in mid-May 2025.
The rental box is operated by Realsport, to whom the municipality of Hünenberg has provided the location.
Have fun on the water!
