Motorcyclist sustains serious injuries in collision with van

A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after he was involved in a collision with a van on Wednesday morning.

As journalist Andrea Muff wrote, the incident happened shortly after 9 am as the 66-year-old motorcyclist was proceeding along Knonauerstrasse heading towards the centre of Cham. At the same time, a van driven by a  25-year-old emerged from Langackerstrasse to reach Untermühlenstrasse but failed to notice the approaching motorcyclist. In the ensuing collision the latter was thrown from his machine leading him to sustain serious injuries for which he was taken to hospital for treatment.

Fortunately, the van driver escaped injury.

As can be seen in the photograph, extensive damage, amounting to CHF 25,000 altogether, was caused to the motorcycle and the van.
