Micro restaurant planned for Aegeristrasse

According to the Zentralplus online journal, a micro restaurant is to be set up in the premises of number 17 Aegeristrasse in the city.

And according to www.zugmap.ch, this building with its white façade was built in 1902, though a family coat-of-arms above the door indicates it was built some thirty years earlier.

Whatever, Andrea and Michael Weingartner from Hünenberg are not particularly concerned about when exactly the building was built, they are more concerned with the micro restaurant they plan to open there in November.

“We are planning to be able to seat 12 guests, though we could cope with groups of up to 20,” said Michael Weingartner, the couple planning on doing the cooking and serving themselves. As to opening times they plan to welcome diners between 5 pm and 11pm between Wednesdays and Sundays, targeting those over the age of 40 who appreciate good food and wine.

The Weingartners are no strangers to the food business, having previously worked for 12 years as vintners in Astano near Lugano, offering meals there, too. Now, they have decided to move to central Switzerland, to Zug, where Michael Weingartner has many contacts.

The new premises are not exactly in a quiet spot, on this busy road, nor are there any parking spaces directly by the restaurant. Furthermore, there are no great views to behold, and it will not be possible to eat outdoors.  Not that any of these shortcomings are of great concern to the pair as the main thing is that there will be great food and wine.
