Metre-high flames in Baar

A barn in the hamlet of Nottikon in Baar caught fire on Sunday evening. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

At around 8.45 pm on Sunday evening, a resident noticed that a barn in the hamlet of Notikon in Baar was on fire. He immediately alerted the Zug Police Control Centre. When members of the Baar fire brigade and the Zug base fire brigade (FFZ) arrived at the scene of the fire, metre-high flames were coming out of the barn, according to a report from the Zug law enforcement authorities on Monday.

The emergency services immediately began to fight the fire, and succeeded in preventing the flames from spreading to other buildings before they finally extinguished the fire. Neither people nor animals were injured,but the barn burned down completely.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is being investigated by the forensic service of the Zug police. According to the statement, the amount of property damage cannot yet be quantified.

Around 110 members of the Baar fire brigade and the Zug fire brigade (FFZ) as well as members of the fire brigade inspectorate, the Zug rescue service and the Zug Police were deployed.
