Many people are travelling without lights

People who are more clearly visible in traffic arrive at their destination more safely. Under this motto, the Zug Police, together with the TCS, carried out a lighting check in Baar on Thursday.

The occasion was the national ‘Day of Light’, which every year draws attention to the importance of visibility in the dark season.

During the checks at the Lindenpark, the officers checked around 130 people, including e-bike, bicycle and e-scooter riders, as well as some pedestrians. The results showed that many people were wearing dark clothing and were therefore difficult to see. In addition, some cyclists had lights fitted, but had not switched them on.

The police are therefore appealing to all road users to ensure that their lights are working and that they are wearing reflective clothing during the dark winter months. Visibility can be crucial in preventing accidents, especially at dusk, in rain or in fog.
