Local IT firm to be taken over and relocated to neighouring canton

It has been announced that the Zug-based PMC Informatik is to be taken over and indeed retrospectively from 1 January 2019 by the Boss-Info Group, whose headquarters are in Farnern the canton of Bern.

PMC Informatik, which specialises in providing archiving and workflow solutions and which was founded 1987, is to be merged into the Boss-Info Group but led as a separate entity; all of its seven employees will keep their jobs but operate in future from a Boss-Info subsidiary in Sursee in the neighbouring canton of Lucerne.

Until the move is complete, Simon Boss (photograph), the CEO of the eponymous company, will be running PMC Informatik, but once the move to Sursee is complete, Rolf Roth, who heads this subsidiary, will be taking over.

As to the price of the acquisition, no sum has been mentioned.

Of note is that the previous owner of PMC Informatik, Gert Zumkehr, left the company at the end of last month but remains a consultant.

Out of interest, the Boss-Info Group has been providing ICT infrastructure and business management solutions since 1998. Following its takeover of PMC Informatik, it will have a payroll of some 160 and serve over 1,000 clients.

In addition to its headquarters in Farnern the company also operates from Horw as well as Sursee, both in the canton of  Lucerne, Aarburg in Argovia, Fällanden and Fehraltdorf, both in the canton of Zurich, and Münchenbuchsee, also in the canton of Berne.
