Licence plate ZG 911 stolen from a Porsche 911

An unknown perpetrator has stolen the licence plate number ZG 911 from the Porsche 911 belonging to Zug hotelier Heinz von Rickenbach. Until the number plate turns up again, it will be blocked for ten years.

Anger and sadness for Zug hotelier Heinz von Rickenbach. An unknown perpetrator has stolen the number plate ZG 911 from his Porsche 911 in front of the Hotel Zugertor. ‘The Zug police have received a corresponding report,’ confirmed Zug Police media spokesman Frank Kleiner in response to an enquiry from the Zuger Zeitung newspaper.

For Heinz von Rickenbach, the valuable licence plate has not only a material value, but primarily an emotional one. According to media reports, the licence plate has been in the family's possession since the 1950s. Despite the fact that it could probably have raised a six-figure sum at an auction, selling the licence plate number was therefore never an option for Heinz von Rickenbach

The licence plate number will now be now blocked for ten years
According to Frank Kleiner, the loss of licence plates, whether stolen or lost, happens from time to time. To prevent misuse, the number in question is immediately blocked for ten years by the Road Traffic Office (Strassenverkehrsamt). If the licence plates reappear within this period, they will be released to the rightful owner again.
