Learner driver under influence of drugs

The Zug police stopped a learner driver who was driving a vehicle in an incapable condition. He and his companion had to hand over their driving licenses.

On Wednesday evening, 22 April, shortly before 9 p.m., a police patrol by  the "Kollermühle" bus stop checked a motorist. As there was a suspicion of drug use, a rapid drug test was carried out on the 37-year-old learner driver and his 41-year-old companion, according to the press release of the Zug law enforcement authorities. The rapid test was positive for both people, and the public prosecutor's office of the canton of Zug ordered a blood and urine sample to be taken at the hospital. The patrol also found packaged marijuana inside the vehicle, which was confiscated. The driving licenses of the learner driver and his accompanying person were confiscated and forwarded to the Administrative Authority (Road Traffic Office). The two will now have to appear before the Public Prosecutor of the canton of Zug.
