Kirsch used as a disinfectant

Disinfectant stocks are running low. The canton of Zug is itself responsible for production, which is why they are aiming to work together with pharmacies and clinics in Zug. The basis for this is Zug Kirsch AOP, which can be obtained from the Etter distillery.

The following still applies to the population: washing your hands with commercially available soap is sufficient to protect yourself against infection with the corona virus, as the Zug Health Directorate wrote in a press release. For medical professionals, however, disinfectants are still necessary in order to be able to regularly and quickly protect themselves against the further spread of the infection.

Now also being used to clean hands: Zug Kirsch from Etter.

As a result of the increased demand, not only are disinfectants sold out in many places, but the raw material - pure alcohol - is also becoming scarce. The Etter distillery is therefore selling around 2.5 tons of alcohol to the Canton of Zug at cost price, so that it can be used to produce disinfectants. Various pharmacies and clinics in Zug are responsible for the production. "It is a stroke of luck for us that we can easily buy such quantities locally," says health director Martin Pfister in the media release. The disinfectant produced is intended exclusively for use by medical professionals in medical practices, clinics and nursing homes in the canton of Zug.
