Italian and Polish musicians on the Organ Days
As the Zug Organ Days come to an end, the Sunday concerts in Weggis begin.
The International Zug Organ Days (Zuger Orgeltage) will continue on Sunday, 8th November, with two concerts.
At 11 a.m., the Italian organ virtuoso Paolo Oreni will play well-known works by Bach, Vivaldi and Louis Vierne ("Clair de lune" and "Toccata"), as well as an improvisation on a given theme, in the Reformed Church in Zug. Free admission, with door collection. He will also play at the Evening Music at the St. Michael church in Zug at 5 p.m. on the same day.
Also on Sunday, 8th November, at 7.30 p.m., a duo evening with the award-winning Polish musicians Andrzej Chorosinski (organ) and Pawel Gusnar (saxophone) will follow in the Catholic parish church in Rotkreuz. As usual on the organ days, they will perform works from their homeland – including Henryk Wieniawski. In between, solo works for saxophone (by Krzystof Penderecki) and organ (by Bach, Chopin and César Franck) can be heard.
Can be heard twice on the Zug Organ Days and the Evening Music on 8th November: Paolo Oreni.
The Polish musicians will also play on the same day at 5 p.m. in the Catholic parish church in Weggis, where the season of the Weggis Sunday Concerts (winter half-year 2020/21) begins.
The Zug Organ Days will be rounded off by recitals by Enrico Viccardi (at 7 p.m. on Saturday, 14 November, in the Catholic parish church St. Jakob in Cham), who will play pieces by Bach, Mendelssohn and Italian music, and by Olivier Eisenmann, the artistic director of the Zug Organ Days (5 p.m. on Sunday, 15 November, in the John the Baptist (Johannes der Täufer) Catholic church in Menzingen)
