Inmate flees from prison

An inmate of the Zug penitentiary absconded during a work assignment on Tuesday. The police are appealing for information from the public.

The fugitive is Qendrim Atashi, who is 29 years old and was serving a prison sentence in the Zug prison in Bostadel. He absconded at about 4 pm on Tuesday afternoon during an external work assignment. As the Zug police write on Twitter, a large-scale manhunt  was immediately triggered.

Anyone who has any information should contact the police by telephone on 117. The Zug Police gave the following description of the fugitive:

The wanted man is 29 years old, slim, about 170 cm tall, has black short hair, a chin beard and moustache. He was wearing grey trousers, a green sweater, a dark blue jacket and black shoes.

In a statement on Tuesday evening, the Zug police asked the public not to approach or try to stop the wanted person.
