Ice slab falls from lorry onto the A4 motorway
Shortly before 10 am on Wednesday morning, 22nd January, a traffic police patrol saw a slab of ice fall from the roof of an articulated lorry onto the carriageway on the A4 motorway between Küssnacht and Rotkreuz.
The police thereby directed the vehicle to exit the motorway, and it was then stopped and checked, according to a report on Thursday from the Zug law enforcement authorities. The police patrol found that there were several sheets of ice on the tarpaulin roof. Some of these had a thickness of 5 cm and a total weight of around 53 kilograms.

The ice sheets were removed from the tarpaulin roof of the articulated lorry.

The Hungarian lorry river was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug and, according to the police, had to pay a fine deposit of several hundred Swiss francs.
He also had to remove the ice sheets from the tarpaulin roof with the help of the police patrol before being allowed to continue his journey.
