Guido Simmen is to retire from Voice Steps in August

Guido Simmen has built up and passionately led the Voice Steps musical school, based in Cham, over 40 years, according to a recent press release.

As Guido Simmen has now reached retirement age, he will officially step down from the management and school leadership on 1st August 2026. His succession and the continued existence of the musical school has therefore had to be organised.

As part of his retirement, the association will be transferred to a foundation (Stiftung VoiceSteps), which will ensure that the offerings of the school are preserved and continued for future generations "in the same spirit and with the same dedication."

Going forward, the musical school will be managed by a three-member executive board appointed by the board of directors of the foundation. This board consists of Selly Meier (artistic and pedagogical director), Chiara Pfulg (administration), and Rolf Bürkli (finance). Together with the department heads, they form the school's leadership team.

Guido Simmen will remain with Voice Steps as a member of the board of directors of the new foundation. “I’m very happy and grateful that we were able to lay the foundation for continued success, and that I can hand over the reins to new hands,” he is quoted as saying.

We congratulate Guido Simmen on  his many years of dedication to Voice Steps.
