Green light for 30 kph zone on the Grabenstrasse

The Zug Administrative Court has dismissed the appeals of the TCS and local companies against the speed reduction.

The dispute over the 30 kph zone around the Kolinplatz in the city of Zug has taken a step further: the Zug Administrative Court (Verwaltungsgericht) has dismissed two appeals by TCS (Touring Club of Switzerland) and local businesses against the canton's project. The project aims for a noise remediation of the Grabenstrasse with a change to a maximum speed of 30 km/h. In addition, a speed limit of 30 kilometres per hour will also apply on the other two roads leading to the Kolinplatz – the Neugasse and the Ägeristrasse.

The Administrative Court concluded that "the complainants did not put forward valid reasons that could have shaken the findings of the experts".

The decision of 23rd November can be taken further to the Federal Court (Bundesgericht).
