Green-coloured water flows in the Lorze river
The Office for the Environment (Amt für Umwelt) carried out a marking experiment on Monday to ‘investigate the seepage of the Grossacherbach stream in Baar into the groundwater,’ as the cantonal Office for the Environment told the Zuger Zeitung newspaper upon request. This came after an observant reader informed the newspaper about it and sent them a photograph.

According to information from the canton, the Grossacherbach stream was coloured in two places on Monday ‘with dyes that are harmless to the stream and the groundwater’. The Grossacherbach stream flows into the Lorze river via the Göblibach canal.
The greenish-yellowish discolouration was visible for a short time, and there was no danger to the environment at any time.
The investigation was carried out in connection with the use of the groundwater by the Korporation Baar-Dorf and WWZ Energie AG water suppliers in the Sternen area.
