The 28-year-old from the LK Zug light athletic club told TV station SRF that it was special to be in the call room ‘next to all these great athletes.’ For example, she had to run alongside Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce In the semi-final series, among others.
‘I had a fangirl moment,’ she said with refreshing candour. Sand she was also realistic about her prospects: ‘Reaching the final would have been nothing short of a miracle. My goal was not to come last – and I achieved that.’
Géraldine Frey is also expected to compete in the Swiss 4 x 100 metre relay at the current World Championships. So we wish her the best of luck!
