Full closure of the Hinterburgstrasse

Over the last nine months, the Construction Directorate (Baudirektion) of the canton of Zug has renovated the Hinterburgstrasse in the municipality of Neuheim. The Baarerstrasse – Edlibachstrasse section will now be closed for a weekend for the surface construction.

The refurbishment of the Hinterburgstrasse in Neuheim is nearing completion, with the installation of a low-noise cover layer. The construction work on the Hinterburgstrasse, as well as the expansion and upgrading of the Hinterburgmülibach with regard to flood safety, has been underway since October 2019, and has included a new bed for the Muhlibach stream with run-off channels and various utility lines, as well as the work for the road extension. The assumed construction time will be met, despite the additional work.

To ensure optimal quality, the installation of the deck cover will be carried out during a complete closure of the Edlibachstrasse to Baarerstrasse section of the Hinterburgstrasse, according to the press release of the cantonal construction directorate. The road will be closed to all traffic to and from Neuheim from the Baarerstrasse junction. The work will take place from Sunday, 7 June at 6 a.m. until Monday, 8 June, 5 a.m. In case of bad weather, the work will be postponed until the following weekend.

The Hinterburgmühlibach stream now flows in a new bed.

Detours via Sihlbrugg
Traffic from Baar to Neuheim will be diverted from the Lättich roundabout, and via Sihlbrugg in the opposite direction. You can drive from Edlibach towards Baar via the Nidfurren junction. The detour route is signalled.

Buses between Baar and Neuheim will run via Sihlbrugg. Further information can be found at www.zvb.ch, or directly at the affected stops.

As the dates of the construction work are weather-dependent, postponements cannot be excluded. The cantonal civil engineering office will provide information about the exact construction dates at an early stage. The relevant information can be found on the website www.zg.ch/baustellen. The building authority is taking the necessary precautions to keep traffic disruption to a minimum.
