Friday vaccination in pharmacies is a success

Around 450 vaccinations were administered on the first three Fridays. The offer will therefore be continued and will be expanded.

From the 20 August, nine pharmacies have been offering walk-in vaccinations without prior notice on Friday afternoons between 2 and 6 p.m. "Our experiences are very positive: Many people from Zug appreciate this uncomplicated vaccination offer close to home," says Martin Affentranger, President of the Association of Zug Pharmacies, in a statement.

All nine participating pharmacies will continue to offer Friday vaccination (see footnote), with the Amavita pharmacy in Unterägeri now on board as the tenth pharmacy. "I’m very pleased that this uncomplicated vaccination option is now also available in the Ägeri Valley," adds Health Director Martin Pfister.

Tests are to be subject to a payment
Vaccination is the only way out of the pandemic – and is also the easiest way to obtain the Covid certificate, which will now also be necessary in the canton of Zug for restaurants, museums, cinemas and other cultural and leisure facilities from 13 September. The certificate is automatically issued immediately after the second vaccination, and is then valid for one year. The vaccination is free, whereas the tests that are otherwise required for a Covid certificate will have to be paid for from 1 October.

The Zug Vaccination Centre (Zuger Impfzentrum)in Baar is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and vaccinations are possible with or without prior notice. Further information can be found on www.corona-impfung-zug.ch.
