Four cars collide on the A4a motorway
According to a report from the Zug police, the accident took place on Wednesday evening, November 13, shortly before 5:15 p.m., on the A4a motorway in the direction of Lucerne. Immediately before the Blegikurve, an 83-year-old driver in the overtaking lane realised too late that the vehicles were slowing down in front of him, and crashed into the rear of the car in front of him. This car was pushed forward into the rear of another vehicle, and this in turn into a fourth car. No-one was injured, but the damage to the four cars is estimated at around CHF 40,000.
During the salvage of the vehicles as well as the cleaning of the lane, traffic had to be pass the accident site in a single lane, which led to a longer queue in the after-work traffic. Employees of a private towing company and the Zug police were on duty.
