Fire at a recycling site on Saturday morning

A fire broke out on a company premises in Baar in the early hours of Saturday morning, but no-one was injured.
 

In the early hours of Saturday morning, shortly after midnight, the Zug Police were informed that flames and smoke were visible on the premises of a recycling company on the Chrüzegg in Baar.

According to the Zug Police, the emergency responders on site found that a roll-on-roll-off container filled with bulky waste had caught fire. The container had to be emptied to extinguish the blaze. The burning material was then extinguished layer by layer using an excavator.

No-one was injured in the fire. According to the latest investigations, the cause of the fire was damaged batteries. Twenty-five members of the Baar fire brigade (Feuerwehr Baarand officers from the Zug Police were deployed to the scene.
