Fasnacht 2021 to take place without events

Even if there will be no parades and balls, the carnival will still take place in Hünenberg – simply virtual.

There was chaos around the press conference at which the Eichezunft (carnival society) Hünenberg wanted to provide information about the "Corona Carnival 2021". The press conference was initially announced to be taking place at the Restaurant Wart in Hünenberg, but this was then corrected to say that the press conference would be held in the Restaurant Rialto in Zythus. In a correction of the correction, the "Warte(raum) (=waiting room) in front of the Ökihof in Hünenberg Zythus was finally indicated as the venue.

This wasn’t true, of course. It was, after all, the official start of the carnival season (November 11), and the Eichezunft (Oak Guild) in Hünenberg were making fun of the recent press conference of Trump's lawyers and Rudy Giuliani, which was initially announced at the Four Seasons Hotel, but then took place in front of a horticultural company called the  Four Seasons Total Landscaping, next to a funeral parlour and a sex shop. A similar lectern was even placed in front to the Ökihof.

Despite the cancellation of traditional events - the guild wants to conjure up the spirit of carnival
Carnival has always reacted to world events and presented them in a satirical manner. This is reflected, for example, in the subjects displayed in the carnival parades, or at the Schnitzelbank evenings. Every year, the Eichezunft Hünenberg presents an elaborate, satirical stage performance at its Enthronement evening. None of this will be possible in 2021 because of Corona, and the Eichezunft will not be able to carry out many of the traditional events in the coming carnival period. Nevertheless, according to the press release, the Hünenberg Eichezunft wants to conjure up the carnival culture and the spirit of carnival in 2021. This good spirit should drive out all the evil spirits. "Fasnacht entrümpelt die Seele (Carnival unravels the soul)" has been a motto of the guild since its foundation.

For this reason, the Eichezunft is producing a Late Night Show. Under the name "Fasnight Show", a show will be published on the Internet every day during the carnival. The show offers satirical content, but also background information about the carnival culture. And this thought can extend beyond the municipal boundaries of Hünenberg. You therefore don't have to be an Eichezunftler or Hünenberger to obtain access to the show.

The show will be broadcast on all social media and YouTube, and there is also a website. A registration form can currently be found on www.fasnightshow.ch, through which topics can be submitted. What happened? What could be treated satirically? The creators are looking forward to many interesting messages.
