False report of a kidnapped child

A report of a kidnapped child led to a major operation by the Zug police on Friday afternoon (10th March). Investigations later revealed that the report was false information, however.

At 1.30 pm on Friday afternoon (10 March 2023), the Zug Police Control Centre received a report that an unknown man had allegedly dragged a girl into a van in Unterägeri. This report was made by two 7-year-old girls, according to the report from the Zug law enforcement authorities.

Based on these statements, a comprehensive investigation and a large-scale manhunt were immediately launched. In this context, vehicle checks were carried out at various locations in the canton of Zug.

In the meantime, the report has turned out to be false, and the exact background is now being investigated. According to the police, the findings do not give any cause for concern.
