EVZ Women defeat Fribourg again
On Sunday, the EVZ women's ice hockey team won their second play-off semi-final game against HC Fribourg-Gottéron 5-3. The away match for the EVZ Women took place in the BCH Arena in Fribourg.
While the Fribourg-Gottéron team gained momentum in the second period, the EVZ website wrote that the EVZ women "drew the right conclusions and put their opponents in their place" in the final period. The scorers for Zug were Lara Stadler (0:1), Luisa Waser (0:2), Rahel Enzler (2:3), Noemi Neubauerova (3:4) and Alina Marti (3:5).
The victory was well-deserved. The EVZ Women now hold a 2-0 lead in the PostFinance Women's League semi-final series
The EVZ Women had already won their first home game against Fribourg-Gottéron with an impressive 7:0. As the EVZ reported in their live ticker, the Zug women impressed throughout the game with clean, structured play and impressive efficiency in front of the opposing net. The goals were scored by Luisa Waser, Sarah Mettler, Rahel Enzler, Laura Fuoco, Jael Manetsch (twice) and Noemi Neubauerova. Best player for Zug was Alina Marti.

Season over for Lia Egger
EVZ forward Lia Egger suffered a broken forearm in the first match of the play-off semi-final series against HC Fribourg-Gottéron. As the club announced, the 22-year-old underwent surgery on Saturday and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Lia Egger has played 27 games for EVZ across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and one assist.
The third match in the semi-final series is on Tuesday 10th March in the OYM Hall in Zug, starting at 7:30 pm, followed by an away game on Friday, 13th March in the BCH Arena in Fribourg.
