EVZ ice hockey women secure double victory at the weekend
The EV Zug women's ice hockey team fulfilled their duty on the 19th matchday of the Women's League, defeating SC Langenthal 4-1 away from home.
In front of only 115 spectators, Chiara Eggli (1-1), Rahel Enzler (2-1), Elena Gaberell (3-1), and Leonie Kutzer (4-1) scored for Head Coach Daniela Diaz's team against SC Langenthal, the second-to-last team in the standings, after unexpectedly conceding a goal in the 4th minute.
The game against the Bernese team proved to be a bit tougher than expected, but the favourites ultimately prevailed and secured the victory. Lara Stalder was the game's top scorer with three assists.

The EVZ women were then in action against the GCK Lions on Sunday, but this time in the National Cup competition. The GCK Lions are the youth development team of the ZSC Lions, following the merger with the GCZ (NLB) and SC Küsnacht, and the team plays in the NLB.
The Zug team decisively won their round-of-16 match against the lower-ranked GCK team 0 – 15. The game was effectively over early, with the score already at 0 - 5 after 35 minutes. Zug's goaltender, Chiara Pfosi, recorded a shutout.
The runaway league leaders (who now have 52 points from 19 games) continue their Women’s League campaign with another away match on Thursday, 4th December (8:15 pm in the Swiss Life Arena, Altstetten) against the fifth-placed ZSC Lions.
They play away again on Saturday, 6th December, this time against NHA (Neuchâtel Hockey Academy) in the Patinoires du Littoral (ancien) stadium in Neuchâtel from 5:45 pm.
The next home game will finally be from 2:30 pm on Sunday, 21st December, against SC Langenthal Ladies (SCLD).
