Escaping gas triggers fire brigade deployment in Steinhausen

On Monday morning, 27 May, shortly after 5 a.m., the dispatch centre of the Zug Police received a report that gas was escaping from a tank at a company on the Knonauerstrasse in the Steinhausen area, according to a report from the media office of the Zug law enforcement authorities. The specialists who were deployed soon discovered that the escaping gas was nitrogen, and the leak was able to be subsequently sealed.

The exact cause of the gas leakage has not yet been determined and clarified, but there was no danger to humans and the environment. No residents had to be evacuated. For safety reasons, however, the Knonauerstrasse was closed during the firefighting operation between the Knonauerstrasse / Bahnhofstrasse roundabout and the Knonauerstrasse / Chamerstrasse junction. Members of the Steinhausen fire department and the Zug fire station centre (FFZ), the Zug rescue service and the Zug Police were in action were involved in the action.
