Entering frozen bodies of water is prohibited!

Icy weather conditions of recent days have led to the formation of ice layers.

The idyllic scene is deceptive: standing bodies of water in Zug are currently off limits     Photo: zvg

The weather conditions of recent days have led to the formation of ice layers on some smaller, still bodies of water in the canton of Zug. However, as the Zug police announced, these must not be entered. The reason: they are still not load-bearing.

The ice currently present consists of a dangerous layer of snow ice, which can be mistakenly misinterpreted as solid, load-bearing ice.

The ban applies to all still bodies of water in the canton of Zug. Clearance will only be granted after inspection by the Zug police, in close coordination with the municipal authorities. Any barriers must be strictly observed, the statement adds.
