E-bike rider suffers life-threateningly injuries

There was a side-on collision between two cyclists on the Artherstrasse in Zug on Saturday afternoon. An e-bike rider thereby suffered life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday afternoon, a 77-year-old e-bike driver was riding on the bike path along the Artherstrasse in Zug in the direction of Oberwil when she was overtaken by a 44-year-old racing cyclist.

For reasons still unknown, there was a collision between the two cyclists, and the e-bike rider fell to the ground, according to a statement from the Zug Police. The cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in this fall, and had to be flown to the hospital by a rescue helicopter.

The exact course of the accident is now being clarified by the Zug Police. During the approximately 40-minute deployment of the rescue forces, the Artherstrasse was only passable in one lane at the accident site. Employees of the Zug Rescue Service, the Zug Police and the Lions Air rescue service were on duty.
