Driver sought after multiple collisions on the motorway

(Police announcement of Wednesday, 01.12.2021, 09:18 a.m.).

A vehicle was involved in multiple collisions on the A4 motorway. Damage to the crash barriers was found in several places, and the police are now looking for witnesses.

On Tuesday evening (30 November 2021), at 7:15 p.m., an vehicle driving without lights on the A4 motorway in Rotkreuz in the direction of Lucerne (by the overpass to the A14) was reported to the Operations Control Centre of the Zug Police. The deployed patrol was unable to find any vehicle at this point, but reported various cases of damage to the motorway infrastructure. For example, the traffic divider at the Zug/Lucerne junction had been knocked over by a vehicle and completely smashed. The remnants were scattered over  a radius of 50 metres. About 200 meters further, by the overpass to the A14, the guard rail on the right-hand side has also been hit, and had been pushed outwards by the impact. Vehicle parts of the Peugeot brand were found In the area of the collisions. The property damage amounts to several thousand Swiss francs, and employees of the Zentras had to be deployed to repair the damaged motorway infrastructure,.
 

 

Call for witnesses
The police are looking for the driver of the car or van, which was a white Peugeot. The vehicle is likely to be damaged in the front area and on the right side. Any persons who can provide information about the vehicle or the course of the accident are requested to contact the Zug Police Operations Control Centre (T 041 728 41 41). The person who caused the accident is also asked to come forward. Garage owners have also been asked to report any vehicles brought in for repair work.
