Driver crashes into the guard rail on A4 motorway

Under the influence of alcohol, a driver crashed into the guard rail on the motorway. He was uninjured, but had to hand over his driver's license.

In the early hors of Saturday morning (22 January 2022), shortly after 02:00 a.m., there was a single-vehicle-accident on the A4 motorway in Cham, in the direction of Lucerne. A 56-year-old driver lost control of his car, whereupon it hid the guard rail at the Lindencham exit and came to a standstill there. The man was fortunately uninjured, and a breath alcohol measurement carried out on him showed a value of 0.71 mg/l.

The 56-year-old had to hand over his driver's license, and will now have to appear before the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug.

Property damage of more than CHF 10,000 francs was caused to the vehicle and the guard rail, and the car had to be removed by a private towing company. Employees of Zentras were called in to clean up the roadways.
