Drinking water in the city flawless again almost everywhere

The WWZ has once again ensured the quality of drinking water in most of the city of Zug. The WWZ advises people in the previously affected areas to allow both the cold and hot water to run for at least five minutes for the first time before it is consumed.

Through the coordinated closing of valves in the water pipe network and systematic water samples, the contamination has been limited to the area around St. Oswaldsgasse, according to the sixth update by the WWZ (Zug Waterworks company).

The drinking water In the rest of the city of Zug is again of impeccable quality and can be used without hesitation. However, it is recommended to let the cold and hot water run for at least five minutes for the first time at each tap in the previously contaminated areas that have now been declared OK. The cause of the contamination is still unknown.

The following areas are still affected by the pollution:

The drinking water must continue to be boiled in this area. Further measures in the affected area will be determined with the Office for Consumer Protection, in order to supply customers there with perfect drinking water as quickly as possible. Until then, the affected population will be provided with free bottled water from  the WWZ.
