Cyclist seriously injured after accident

A woman driver and a racing cyclist collided on Sunday afternoon. Due to his injuries, the cyclist had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.

There was a collision between a racing cyclist and a woman motorist occurred on Blickensdorferstrasse in Baar at around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, 6 June. According to a media release from the Zug law enforcement authority, a 24-year-old woman was driving on the Blickensdorferstrasse from Baar in the direction of Gulmmatt. At the intersection, she wanted to turn left into the Steinhauserstrasse, but failed to see a 41-year-old racing cyclist who was riding on the opposite lane in the direction of Baar. This resulted in a lateral/frontal collision. The cyclist was seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital with the Zug ambulance service.

According to the notification, the accident resulted in property damage to the car and bicycle of several thousand Swiss francs. Employees of the Zug Rescue Service, a private towing service, the road maintenance service and the Zug Police were deployed
