Corona vaccination now to be offered beyond the cantonal borders

The 100,000th Corona vaccination in the canton of Zug was administered at the Zug Vaccination Centre in Baar on Monday, June 21. The population of Zug will continue to have vaccination priority up to the end of the month. From 1 July, people from other cantons can also be vaccinated in Zug.

Up to now, only people resident in the canton of Zug have been able to be vaccinated. As of 1 July, however, the vaccination centre will also open its doors to people from other cantons, as the canton writes in a press release. "All Zug residents who want to be vaccinated and who have not yet registered should do so by the end of the month," says Health Director Martin Pfister. "In this way, they will secure their priority on the waiting list and quickly receive their vaccination appointment." After half a year of prioritisation of the population of Zug, everyone can then register for a vaccination in Zug. "Particularly for people who work in Zug but live outside, this makes the simplest possible vaccination option possible," explains Pfister.

The operation at the Zug Vaccination Centre is still in full swing, with more than 1,200 vaccinations being administered per day, the canton continues. "To date, more than 57% of all Zug residents over the age of 16 have received at least one vaccination dose. This corresponds to a total of more than 100,000 vaccination doses," says Pfister with delight. The 100,000th dose in the canton of Zug was administered at the Zug Vaccination Centre in Baar on Monday, 21 June. The easiest way to ensure the currently positive epidemiological situation over the long term is clearly vaccination, emphasises Martin Pfister. "Protect yourself and your loved ones and register for vaccination."
