Construction work begins on Oberallmendstrasse and Grienbachstrasse

Extensive pipeline and road construction work is now starting on the Oberallmendstrasse in Zug. The extension of the Grienbachstrasse West will also start at the beginning of March 2023, and the construction work will continue until summer of 2024.

The City of Zug will start the renovation and extension work on the Oberallmendstrasse in Zug and will start installing new drainage pipes from Monday, 6 February. Tech Cluster Zug AG, together with WWZ Netze AG, will be carrying out extensive work on the works pipelines: these include heating and cooling lines, control systems and electrical supply, drinking water transport lines, gas lines, the extension of the cable route, various adjustments and the new construction of cable shafts.

In addition, the street lighting will be completely replaced and converted to LED, according to a press release from the city of Zug on Friday.

Due to the extensive work in the road area, two-lane through traffic cannot be maintained during the construction work. The first construction phase in the southern part of Oberallmendstrasse up to August 2023 will therefore be carried out with a full closure of the section between the Ibelweg and the Göblistrasse. People who live within the construction section will be able to drive as close as possible to their property, and the access for the emergency services will be guaranteed at all times.

Temporary traffic obstructions will thereby have to be expected.

Grienbach bus stop to be moved
The Grienbachstrasse will be extended in the area between the Industriestrasse and the Oberallmendstrasse. The construction work will be less intensive here than in Oberallmendstrasse, so that traffic can pass the construction site in two lanes during the construction work, according to the press release.

The Grienbach bus stop will have to be temporarily moved in the direction of the Baarermatte. The access roads to the neighbouring properties and the main access road to the V-ZUG AG site will be maintained. There may be temporary traffic obstructions.
