Construction of the festival is making progress
The Musikgesellschaft Cham is celebrating its 200-year anniversary
The Musikgesellschaft Cham (Cham Music Society) is celebrating its 200-year anniversary this year, and is thereby reviving a tradition from the 1950s, with the Sommernachtspiele (Summer Night Plays).
The preparations for this ‘once-in-a-lifetime event’ are currently in full swing. The stage in the Hirsgarten am See in Cham is currently under construction, as the following drone image illustrates:

The Sommernachtspiele will tell the story of the last 200 years in Cham, and will show how music has been an integral part of this history, which was marked, in particular, by the industrialisation of Cham, with the construction of the condensed milk factory and the paper mill (the Papieri).
In addition to the Cham Music Society, the local choir Lusingando and the Voice Steps company will perform on the stage. Additional music for the event has been composed by local composer Tobias Rütti.
There will also be a gastronomy tent and a music bar at the event, and these will be open to the public without having to have a ticket for the main event.
Note:
The Sommernachtspiele will take place on the 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14 and 15 June on the Hirsgarten in Cham. The show will begin at 8:30 pm.
Tickets are still available for the performances on 11 and 12 June, but the remaining events are already sold out.
