Colour, light and natural materials merge into poetry

In her works, Murielle Argoud combines natural materials, colour and light to create abstract poetry – an interplay between calm, movement and transcendence. She is currently exhibiting some of her works at the Maschine 17 gallery in Cham.

Murielle Argoud's art is abstract poetry, which is materialised using various mixed media. In addition to oil paint, the artist thereby uses natural materials such as volcanic ash and sand, while crystals, gold and silver leaf enhance the effect of her compositions, which bring together matter and light. The application of materials contrasts from light to dark and vice versa, creating a constant alternation between calm and movement.

The artist wants to reveal what lies behind the physical appearance of natural elements – even if it’s just the gentle caress of the wind over water, manifested in delicate wave forms. Her paintings are not meant to be analysed: they are meant to unfold their individual effect on the viewer, to touch them, to evoke emotions.
