Circus Knie starts shortened tour after Corona break

Circus Knie started its shortened tour on Friday in Bern, with a five and a half months delay. There will also be performances in Zug and Lucerne. Due to the corona pandemic, the circus tour was interrupted in March. The face mask obligation will now apply on the circus site and during the performance

As of this Friday, the ring of the Circus Knie will again be in action. As the circus announced in advance, its latest tour will re-start in Bern after a break due to the corona pandemic.

Among others, the clown duo Ursus & Nadezhkin will be present. "We’ve now been nervous for five months," Nadezhkin told the Keystone-SDA news agency. "We’ve never had to waited so long for a premiere."

The premiere in Rapperswil, originally planned for March, had to be cancelled due to the Corona crisis. The circus management has now decided to carry out a shortened tour, which will travel exclusively through German-speaking Switzerland. In addition to Bern, the circus will perform in Aarau, Chur, Zurich, St.Gallen, Wil, Rapperswil, Zug and Lucerne.

The Circus Knie should have originally started its tour in Rapperswil in March, and is now re-launching a shortened tour.

Circus Knie will perform in Zug from 4 to 6 December, and the tour will end in Lucerne: on the Lucerne Allmend from 9 to 31 December.

Mask obligation and numbered seats
The head of the circus, Fredy Knie Jr., told Keystone-SDA that he was looking forward to the premiere, but that the shortened tour also meant fewer spectators and therefore less revenue. "We need the support of the audience," says the Knie manager.

According to the protection concept of the Circus Knie, the mask obligation will apply from 12 years of age, on both the event grounds and during the performance. Contact details will be collected from all visitors when purchasing the ticket. Furthermore, each visitor has a numbered seat, and the marquee will be divided into different sectors. Additional sanitation and catering booths will also be available, wrote the circus in a statement. Three air extractors will also be installed in the marquee dome to ensure better air circulation.
