Cinematic and culinary highlights on Lake Zug

The seventh Genuss-Film-Festival will take place from 16 to 23 September.

According to the organisers, the Genuss-Film-Festival on the Lake Zug Promenade offers "a varied programme of inspiring films, great menus, exciting talks and award ceremonies in a tried and tested manner". Thanks to the protection concept, they are confident that the event can be carried out.

The individual events will start at the Seehof cinema (except for the "Soirée Closing" on Thursday, 23 September 2021). Comedies such as "Abe", "Love Sarah" or "Master Cheng" will be shown, but also documentaries: about the craftsmanship of bread baking ("Brot” (bread), cooking guru Yotam Ottolenghi and his dessert buffet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art ("Ottolenghi and the Temptations of Versailles"), the great passion of the old truffle hunters ("Truffle Hunters") or the history of the Burgundy wine festival in its most difficult hours ("Three Days Of Glory").

The culinary experience
After the cinema experience, there is a short walk to the Zug Seequai, where the guests will take their seats in the pavilion. This is where the spotlight will fall on top chefs. According to the announcement, the kick-off will be carried out by Noémie Bernard (Restaurant Sternen, Walchwil), and, over the next few days, she will be followed by colleagues Armin Amrein (Glow by Armin Amrein, Davos), the trio of René Weder, Franco Körperich and Stefan Meier (Gasthaus Löwen, Menzingen and Gasthaus Rathauskeller, Zug), Pascal Steffen («roots», Basel), Björn Inniger (Restaurant Alpenblick, Adelboden), the «Gault-Millau» Chef of the Year 2021 Stefan Heilemann (Hotel Widder, Zurich) and Markus Neff (Bergrestaurant Gütsch by Markus Neff , Andermatt). The culinary sequence will conclude on the last evening with "The Five" with Peter Bechter, Jacky Donatz, Stefan Meier, René Weder and Otto Zenger.

Together with Photo Switzerland, the Genuss-Film-Festival will also be showing a photographic showcase on the subject of "Eating, Drinking, Enjoyment" at the Gasthaus Rathauskeller in Zug from 4 September. The five local photographers are Livio Burtscher, Sascha Herold, Nora Nussbaumer, Karin Nützi-Weisz and Nils Riedweg.
