Christmas markets in the canton
The pre-Christmas season in Zug is a time of mulled wine, punch and chestnuts. Christmas markets are extremely popular every year. Here is what awaits you in the canton of Zug.*
Baar
Christchindli-Märt
- When: Saturday, 26 November, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- What and where: On the Schulhausplatz, Marktgasse and the Rathausplatz, more than 130 stalls offer Christmas gift items and a range of culinary delights. In addition, a varied supporting programme awaits visitors. Music groups will perform, Samichlaus (Santa Claus / St. Nicholas) comes to visit, and there will be petting animals and ‘Grittibänz’ baking to delight young and old.

Zuwebe Christmas Market
- When: On the weekend of 19 and 20 November from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
- What and where: In the Zuwebe building at Untere Rainstrasse 31, employees will sell products that have been manufactured by people with disabilities in the Zuwebe plant. A wide range of catering in the outdoor area invites you to linger, while the creativity of children is given free rein with nature crafts.

Christmas market at the Hotzenhof
- When: Saturday, 17 December from 11 a.m.to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 18 December, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- What and where: Twelve exhibitors from the food and craft sectors are represented at the Hotzenhof in Deinikon. Not only can you find liqueurs, wines and gift baskets, but if you want, you can also buy a Christmas tree. The festive restaurant is open all day on both days, with delicacies from the farm kitchen. Fairy tales will also be told while sitting in the hay at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Location of Christmas markets in the Canton of Zug
Cham
- When: Thursday, 8 December, from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
- What and where: At the Christmas market on the Kirschplatz and Dorfplatz in Cham, regional market traders offer handicrafts, candles, Christmas trees and Christmas biscuits. The culinary offer invites you to take a lunch break, and visitors can enjoy a warm cup of mulled wine or punch in the evening.

Hünenberg
- When: Friday, 25 November, from 3.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
- What and where: there will be imaginative market stalls and a wide range of food stalls at the Christmas market on the Dorfplatz. The little ones can have fun on the carousel. Various music groups will perform in the "Heinrich von Hünenberg" hall from 5 p.m. onwards.

- What and where: The Menzingen Christmas Market takes place on the Rathausplatz. This year's theme is "Christmas and gifts".

Neuheim
- When: Sunday, 20 November, from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
- What and where: numerous market stalls with catering offers await visitors around the Dorfplatz in Neuheim. In the Schulhausküche (schoolhouse kitchen), children can decorate gingerbread and, in the Pfarreitreff (parish hall get-together), the Märlifee (Christmas fairy) will tell exciting stories. A concert in the church at 6.15 p.m. will bring the Christmas market to an atmospheric close.

- What and where: decorated stalls will offer handcrafted gifts and homemade unique pieces at the Christmas market on the Dorfplatz in Rotkreuz. Traditional and new ideas mix here every year.

- What and where: The Christmas market on the Dorfplatz in Steinhausen is organised by the municipality's sports club. Visitors are provided with "enjoyable" food and warm drinks with or without alcohol.

- Where: The Klausmarkt will take place on the Landsgemeindeplatz.

Gondel Gärtli in the Männerbadi
A nice alternative to the Christmas market: from 11 November, the Badi Bar in the Männerbadi will open the first Gondel Gärtli in Zug. Gondolas can be reserved for pairs or in larger groups, and fondue is served during the "ride". If you want, you can also be served a menu with a mulled wine aperitif, salad and dessert. Walchwil
- When: Sunday, 20 November, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- What and where: FC Walchwil's Christmas and hobby artists' market takes place in the Gemeindesaal (community hall). Here, exhibitors present handmade works, and visitors are given the opportunity to look over the shoulders of the artists. The festive restaurant offers chips, Wienerli and sandwiches, as well as coffee and cake.
