Chomer Markt and Christmas Market cancelled

The ongoing effects of the corona pandemic require  further measures to be taken with regard to events organised by the Cham Resident’s Office.

Due to the uncertain situation and the rising number of infections, the municipal council and management of the Cham Residents’ Office (Einwohnergemeinde) have decided to cancel the ‘Chomer Märt’ (Cham Market) on 25 November and the Christmas Market on 8 December. That was stated in a communication on Thursday.

The Municipal Administration will therefore remain open all day on 25 November. "The decision to cancel the two events was not easy for us," says the mayor, Georges Helfenstein, in the statement. "The Chomer Märt in particular has a long tradition and is very popular with the people of Cham. And the Christmas market, with its special charm, will certainly be missed by many."
