Child hit by car on pedestrian crossing

A boy was hit by a car while using a pedestrian crossing on his bike. The boy was thereby injured.

A child was hit by a car on Wednesday morning around 8 o'clock as he was on his way to school on the Oberallmendstrasse, near the Göblistrasse in Zug. The 10-year-old boy was crossing a pedestrian crossing on his bike, as the Zug police announced on Wednesday afternoon. The boy did not thereby have right-of-way.

A motorist who was driving towards the pedestrian crossing could not stop in time, and touched the rear wheel of the bike. The 10-year-old thereby fell and injured himself slightly.

The Zug ambulance service treated the injured child, and then transferred him to the hospital for further checks. The bicycle helmet that the boy was wearing at the time of the accident protected him from more serious injuries, continues the statement.
