Change at the top of Shell Switzerland

Andrea Laanio has taken over the role of Country Chair of the Shell companies in Switzerland from 1 February. She thereby succeeds Lorenz Burkart, who is retiring after 26 years in various finance and controlling roles, as the Dutch-British energy company announced on Monday.

Andrea Laanio has been working for Shell since 2006. As Head of Legal, she has been responsible in recent years for the legal issues of the various Shell companies based in Switzerland. "Shell has the energy to turn the tide, and we want to help our customers in Switzerland to take the step towards climate-friendly mobility," she is quoted as saying in the press release.

Shell currently employs just over 100 people in Switzerland, around 80 of them at its headquarters in Baar. Among other things, the international trademark rights of the various Shell companies are managed from here, which then transfer the corresponding licence fees to Switzerland.

Sponsoring in the motor sport sector is also coordinated from Baar. Shell operates around 280 petrol stations nationwide.
