Cham Fire Brigade extinguishes smouldering fire at the Pavatex company

A smouldering fire started in an underground chip silo at the Pavatex company on the Knonauerstrasse in Cham on Thursday. The fire was reported to the dispatch centre of the Zug police shortly before 10:30 am. The Cham fire brigade was quickly on the spot with first responders and was able to bring the fire under control.
In order to completely extinguish the flames and locate embers, the underground silo had to be completely emptied. Nobody was hurt during the fire.

The cause is meanwhile still unclear and clarified by the forensic service of the police of Zug. A technical cause is suspected, however. The exact extent of property damage is still unclear.
Around 30 members of the Cham fire brigade and members of the Zug rescue service and the Zug police were on duty.)
