Ceremonial swearing-in of the Zug Police Corps

On Friday (30 September 2022), Government Councillor Stephan Schleiss welcomed six women and 20 men to the Zug police corps. The ceremony took place at the Theatre Casino in Zug.

At this year's ceremony, 13 graduates who had successfully completed their training at the Intercantonal Police School Hitzkirch (IPH) were welcomed into the Zug police corps. In addition, six men and one woman also moved to Zug from other police corps or were re-joining the Zug police corps, while a graduate who had completed his training as a security assistant and five specialists were also welcomed as civilian employees. "We are proud to welcome you all to the Corps," said Thomas Armbruster, Commander of the Zug Police, as he addressed the approximately 150 guests and relatives. He congratulated the candidates on pass the training course. "By joining, you are responsible for maintaining the security of the population and promise to protect their rights and freedom."

In the name of the rule of law
The 26 police officers were then allowed to step forward individually. They placed their hand on the flag of the Zug police and, in front of government councillor (Regierungsrat) Stephan Schleiss, swore to dutifully fulfil the legal police mandate for the population of Zug.  Government Councillor Stephan Schleiss warmly congratulated those who have now been officially admitted to the corps, and wished them every success in fulfilling their task.

The event was musically framed by the Polizeimusik Zug under the direction of Roland Hürlimann. In addition to the member of the police corps and the Secretary General of the Security Directorate Meret Baumann, cantonal council president Esther Haas, mayor (Stadtpräsident) Karl Kobelt and supreme court president (Obergerichtspräsident) Marc Siegwart were among the invited guests.
