Burglars caught in the act

Two young men broke into an event hall in the city of Zug. They were both were spotted at the location, and were arrested.

In the early morning of Monday (13 December 2021), shortly before 01:00 a.m., the Operations Control Centre of the Zug Police received the message that two people had illegally entered an "event hall" on the Zählerweg in the city of Zug. Several police patrols were thereby immediately deployed to the location. During the search of the property, the police were able to stop and arrest two Swiss men aged 20 and 24, who had been hiding in a room.

During their interrogation, the two men admitted to having broken into the "event hall" and to having stolen two drinks and a cash register complete with cash. While the drinks had already been consumed, the cash register was recovered intact.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old stated that he had already broken into the same property on the night of Thursday (9 December 2021). On that occasion, he had also stolen a cash register with cash and fed himself from one of the numerous food stalls.

The two men were released from police custody after the interrogation, and will now face criminal proceedings initiated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug.
