Burglars arrested following a citizen's report

Two young suspects have been arrested following two break-ins in catering establishments and a parcel theft from a car, as the Zug Police reported in a recent press release.

One of the break-ins was witnessed by a local person early on Sunday morning. A group of five people smashed the window pane of a restaurant on the Dorfstrasse in Baar with a stone. Two of the men then entered the premises through the resulting hole, but left the premises again without committing any further offences. The local person alerted the police.

The police subsequently managed to arrest two of the identified men in the area of Baar railway station, according to the police. They are Moroccan nationals aged 15 and 18.

The same perpetrators are also believed to be responsible for another break-in at a catering establishment on the Alpenstrasse in Zug, the report continued. A window was also smashed there on Sunday night, and the restaurant was entered. The perpetrators stole various electronic devices worth around CHF 1,800.

In addition, a parcel was stolen from an unlocked car on the Blasenbergstrasse in Zug.

The two suspects are now in custody, and the Public Prosecutor's Office in Zug has opened a criminal investigation.
