Bull terrier bites 9-year-old boy in the face and genitals

A 9-year-old boy has been bitten several times by a "Miniature Bull Terrier" in Neuheim, Zug. Because of the facial injuries, the child had to be flown to hospital by rescue helicopter.

Two boys aged 9 and 10 were outside playing with each other on Saturday afternoon when an unknown dog suddenly ran towards them. The dog, a one-year-old "Miniature Bull Terrier", abruptly bit the 9-year-old boy, first on the genitals and then several times on the face. This was reported by the Zug Police in a recent memorandum.

A 60-year-old woman, who was in charge of the dog, was able to intervene and separate the animal from the boy. The boy suffered several bite wounds and had to be flown by the Rega air ambulance to a hospital in a neighbouring canton.

The incident is now being investigated by the Zug Police, and ahs been reported to the veterinary service of the Canton of Zug. The dog is currently being held in an animal shelter.
