Bücher Balmer sets the course for the future

The long-established Bücher Balmer bookstore in Zug is setting the course for the future: following its 75th anniversary year, co-owner Christoph Balmer is selling his 50% stake in Bücher Balmer AG to the Solothurn-based Lüthy Group AG.
 

Bücher Balmer announced this in a recent press release. This means that the company will now be fully owned by the Lüthy Group. The move is the logical continuation of a 20-year partnership that began in Steinhausen in 2004 and has been operating within the joint group since 2006.

Christoph Balmer emphasises that everything will remain the same for both customers and employees: the locations in Zug and Steinhausen are secure for the long term, the name Bücher Balmer will be retained, and there will be no organisational changes for the 18 employees, including four apprentices.

The Balmer family is relieved that the future of the bookstores will remain in family hands, and Christoph Balmer says he will remain connected to the company and will continue to be present at events, and will continue to maintain the regional network.
