Baar-based drinks retailer Casillo to close soon

According to an entry on its website, the traditional company Casillo Getränke AG will close its store on Alte Kappelerstrasse in Blickensdorf at the end of January.

In addition, home deliveries will be gradually discontinued. The family business recommends Bösch-Getränke AG as a new supplier.

Casillo Getränke AG, which can look back on a 60-year history, involuntarily hit the headlines last spring: The Commercial Register Office (Handelsregisteramt) in Zug had wrongly declared the company bankrupt. At the time, co-CEO Carlo Casillo told the Zuger Zeitung newspaper that the company was looking for a buyer.

These are tough times for the beverage business in the canton of Zug. Last summer, the more than 140-year-old company Weiss zum Erlenbach in Cham closed its doors for the last time. In addition, the traditional Zug company Weber-Vonesch has decided to stop supplying the catering trade, due to the fierce competition.
